Order of Dorothy Simpson Books

Dorothy Simpson is an English mystery author known for her popular Inspector Thanet series. She is a former recipient of the Silver Dagger Award and has had a writing career spanning over 20 years. Born in South Wales, Dorothy attended Bristol University before moving to Kent, where she worked as a French teacher. In 1961, she married her husband, and later transitioned to a long career as a marriage counselor until her writing took off. Her debut novel, a standalone work, was published in 1977. After facing challenges in getting published, she decided to concentrate on developing a memorable character, which led to the creation of Inspector Thanet, marking the beginning of her success.
